The City of Vincent is a City with a vision.

In 2028, the City of Vincent is a leafy and vibrant 24 hours city, which is synonymous with quality design and sustainability. Its diverse population is supported in their innovative endeavours by a council that says YES!

As our town centres evolve, so does our approach to the increased development. We want to make sure your City has a collection of clear frameworks that guide development that is appropriate to the place in both existing town centres and those that are emerging.

The framework will consider each of the priorities listed in the Strategic Community Plan:

  • Environment
  • Sensitive Design
  • Accessibility
  • Thriving Places
  • Connected Community
  • Innovative and Accountable

We want to make sure a framework is established that guides new development using a shared community vision.

That's where you come in...

The places currently being reviewed are:

North Perth

After establishing itself as a commercial area in the late 19th century, the town centre has reinvented itself a number of times – from a commercial outpost to a bustling northern suburb with the State’s largest primary school, to the settling place for immigrants that have imbued the place with layer upon layer of cultural diversity. The town centre is defined by its unique character, diverse mix of businesses, and rich cultural history. These features, along with its iconic businesses and heritage buildings contribute to its distinct sense of identity, making the area a popular destination within Perth.

It continues to develop as a vibrant and highly liveable destination. While challenges do lie ahead, great opportunities are also present.

West Perth

The Pickle District is a unique pocket in West Perth. It is home to a diverse mix of creative industries and acts as an arts hub for broader Vincent. Its character, iconic businesses, and industrial-style buildings contribute to its distinct sense of identity and are why it is like no other place.

The area's central location and consolidated land holdings create an important opportunity for targeting infill development whilst enhancing the existing diverse and creative industries.

Claisebrook

In Claisebrook traditional industrial uses are transitioning to niche creative industries, and the opportunity to live in the area is increasing. The existing concrete batching plants, representing a significant land holding and function, have time-limited approval until 30 June 2024.

Claisebrook presents an opportunity for high-quality community-focused infill development.
