Consultation has concluded
At its 28 July 2020 Meeting, Council resolved (Item 12.7) to provide public notice of its proposal to repeal the City of Vincent Local Government Property Local Law 2008 and replace it with the Local Government Property Local Law 2020 and a new Elections Signs Policy.
The Election Signs Policy imports the requirements previously set out in the Local Government Property Local Law 2008 and includes further regulations regarding the placement of election signs on City properties.
The proposed new policy aims to:
ensure the amenity and safe use of City parks and reserves, election signs are not permitted to be displayed on or within any City parks and/or reserves, and
reduce the risk that a sign on City facilities or a City property is interpreted as having the endorsement of the City, election signs are not permitted on or adjacent to municipal buildings, including Beatty Park Leisure Centre, Loftus Recreation Centre, City of Vincent Library and City of Vincent Administration Centre.
The draft policy is available to view in full from the document library here.
