Development on City Owned and Managed Land Policy

The City of Vincent Council resolved on 28 July 2020 (Item 12.9) to invite public comment on a proposed new Policy.

The Development on City Owned and Managed Land Policy aims to:

• provide consistency and efficiency in determining proposals by third parties to install temporary or permanent structures on City owned and/or managed land;
• simplify the requirements to allow the display of community advertisement or community event signs on City property;
• provide guidance on the type of fixed infrastructure or furniture that may be considered for installation on City property;
• specify licensing and development approval requirements (where necessary) and standard terms and conditions;
• clarify the internal process, application requirements and referrals required to determine proposals;
• reduce processing times experienced by applicants and reduce Administration staff time required;
• set out minimum legal, design and fee requirements for development proposals; and
• streamline the approval proposes for the three key types of developments on City land.
