Update

No submissions were received during the recent consultation on the Amended Asset Management Policy.

A recommendation was presented to Council on 12 December and at this meeting Council adopted the amended Asset Management Policy and repealed Policy 2.2.12 Asset Management Policy.

Background

The City of Vincent is reviewing our Asset Management Policy and would welcome your feedback on the proposed amendments.

The Asset Management Policy 2.2.12 was adopted in March 2009 has not been reviewed since then.

As significant industry advances have been made in asset management knowledge and practice during this time, a review was recently undertaken.

The resulting draft Asset Management Policy now aligns with industry standards (ISO55000) and with Council's Asset Management and Sustainability Strategy.

At the August Council meeting, the revised Asset Management Policy was approved for community consultation.

A copy of this draft Policy can be viewed in the Documents library to the right of this page.

Project Details

At Vincent, we are committed to ensuring our assets are managed in a sustainable, cost-effective way and meet the level of service expected by our community now and in the future.

The revised policy is part of a framework which guides asset management processes and principles within the organisation.

It sets out a life cycle approach to the management of infrastructure assets, ensuring decision making considers not only whole of life costs when asset planning, but also current and future environmental, economic and social outcomes.

The amended policy aims to:

  • Align infrastructure asset management practices and decisions with outcomes of the Strategic Community Plan.
  • Maintain community infrastructure assets so they meet the needs of our community.
  • Ensure infrastructure assets are appropriately planned, acquired and managed, considering whole of life costs.
