The City of Vincent is asking senior residents, and those who have an interest in ageing in Vincent, to help us understand how we can create an age friendly community.

Background

Vincent's Age Friendly Community Action Plan 2017-2027 informally guides initiatives for seniors.

Last year we completed a Seniors Community Needs Analysis to help us understand needs and aspirations, as well as identify any issues or concerns seniors may have.

Almost 300 people participated in the survey and gave us a broad understanding of key priorities and concerns, which were identified as:

  • Being physically healthy.
  • Being mentally healthy.
  • Transport and accessibility.
  • Feeling safe and connected in the community.
  • Being social with other older adults.

Vincent is now looking at how we address those concerns and aspirations.

Project details

We are seeking feedback from as many seniors as possible who have a connection with Vincent or anyone with an interest in ageing here (such as carers, family members and those looking to retire soon).

We want to know how age-friendly Vincent is, as well as what you think about what we currently offer for seniors.

With your input, together we can make Vincent a better place for older adults to thrive.

The first stage of this process includes four community conversation sessions and we're inviting you to join us at one of them. Attendance at the sessions is free and light refreshments will be provided.

Workshop One

Date: Tuesday 8 April 2025 from 10am-12pm

Venue: Floreat Athena Football Clubrooms, 46 Britannia Road, Mt Hawthorn

Workshop Two
