Exercise equipment and playground upgrades

The City of Vincent is undergoing an update to some of our much loved play and exercise areas.

From exercise equipment to playgrounds, it's time to refresh your play.


Les Lilleyman Reserve

The playground equipment at Les Lilleyman Reserve is around 21 years old.

It's much loved and well used but it’s time for a facelift.

Although structurally sound, components of the playground are due for a refresh.

As part of the 2022/23 Capital Works program installation of new playground facilities at Les Lilleyman Reserve will be carried out Friday 14 October to Tuesday 1 November 2022 (subject to weather conditions)

Based on feedback received during consultation, and in-line with the allocated budget, key features of the new playground design include:

  • Play components for a mixed age groups including climbing tower and equipment, tunnel slide, double swing with all-abilities swing seat
  • Nature inspired steel framed playground equipment with wooden elements
  • Playground surfaces incorporating a mix of rubber soft fall and sand
  • New homestead style playground fencing to match existing park perimeter fencing

Gladstone Street Reserve

Remember Britney's 'One more time'? Well this playground is as old as that smash hit.

Installed in 1999 it's looking tired and a bit outdated.

Although it's situated near a industrial area, the playground is used regularly by local youth groups, and is the closest playground to NIB stadium in an area of the City where public space is well utilised.

As part of the 2022/23 Capital Works program installation of new playground facilities at Gladstone Street Reserve will be carried out Friday 23 September to Tuesday 11 October 2022 (subject to weather conditions)

Based on feedback received during consultation, and in-line with the allocated budget, key features of the new playground design include:

  • Play components for a mixed age groups including basket swing, climbing tower and double slide
  • Nature inspired steel framed playground equipment with wooden elements
  • Rubber soft fall playground surface
  • Playground shade sails

Menzies Park

Why not get a session in at Menzies. We're revitalising the 14 year-old exercise equipment on site.

With age the existing equipment is becoming very costly to repair.

As part of the 2022/23 Capital Works program installation of new exercise facilities at Menzies Park will be carried out November 2022 (exact install dates to be determined).

Based on feedback received during consultation, and in-line with the allocated budget, key features of the new exercise equipment include:

  • Calisthenics-style equipment incorporating elements for users of all abilities.
  • Four new stations installed at the existing locations.

Forrest Park

Forrest fitness first! The exercise equipment at Forrest Park is very well used.

It's starting to look a little worse for wear and we know it's time for a revamp.

As part of the 2022/23 Capital Works program installation of new exercise equipment at Forrest Park will be carried out November 2022 (exact install dates to be determined).

Based on feedback received during consultation, and in-line with the allocated budget, key features of the new exercise equipment include:

  • A combination of mixed functional pieces and Calisthenics-style equipment incorporating elements for users of all abilities.
  • A combined fitness hub on the corner of Harold and Curtis Street
  • Two smaller fitness stations on the corner Walcott and Curtis Street and East of the Pavilion
