The City of Vincent is developing a new Public Health Plan and is asking the community for feedback on their health and wellbeing priorities.

Background

In 2019, the State Government of Western Australia published its first WA Public Health Plan under the Public Health Act 2016.

At the time, Vincent responded by adopting its first Public Health Plan in 2020, with a vision for a healthy, happy and connected community for all.

The environments in which we live, work and play influence our health and wellbeing. Local governments have a role, through the wide range of services they provide, in ensuring those environments are healthy, safe, clean and accessible. This includes:

  • Infrastructure (local roads, footpaths, drainage, waste and recycling).
  • Recreation facilities (parks, sports fields, swimming pools and halls).
  • Environmental health (water and food safety, noise and air pollution, tobacco control, mosquitoes).
  • Planning and building approvals.
  • Community programs and events (library, workshops, cultural events).

We are now into the final year of delivering the Public Health Plan, so it is time to start developing the next one.

Project details

To help us develop the next Public Health Plan, we are asking people who have a connection with Vincent to tell us what their priorities are for the community's health and wellbeing.

The new plan will consider the health priorities you identify here, as well as the State Public Health Plan objectives and local health statistics. You can view an infographic showing some of those statistics in the Documents library to the right of this page.

We may not be able to do everything we’d like so it’s important we hear what your priorities are so we can make the best possible use of our resources.

Share your thoughts

If you live, work, visit or socialise in Vincent, please share your health and wellbeing priorities for the community by completing one of the surveys below.

As a thank you for completing the 'Have your Say' survey, you will have the option to put your name in a draw to win one of five healthy fruit and vegetable hampers.

If you're not online there are other ways you can contact us and provide feedback:

  • By phone 9273 6000
  • By email mail@vincent.wa.gov.au
  • In person at the City of Vincent Administration Building, 244 Vincent Street (corner Loftus Street), Leederville (during business hours)
  • In writing, by mail to PO Box 82, Leederville, 6902

Interpreters are also available for languages other than English, including Auslan. Please contact us to request an interpreter.

Consultation closed 4pm Monday, 31 March 2025.

What will happen next?

We’ll review your feedback and get to work on developing the new Public Health Plan, incorporating what you have told us.

If you wish to be kept updated on this project, please provide your contact details when completing the survey.
