Background
At its 19 September Meeting, Council endorsed consultation to remove Local Planning Policy 7.4.2 Aged or Dependents Persons’ Dwellings.
Project Details
Since the adoption of Local Planning Policy 7.4.2 Aged or Dependent Persons’ Dwellings, the State Planning Framework has evolved, updating the provisions for aged or dependent persons’ dwellings.
These changes encourage the development of small-scale specialised housing, and they also provide adequate controls, which makes the purpose of our policy redundant.
Vincent recognises the increased need for specialised housing in our communities and seeks to remove any barriers relating to the development of aged or dependent persons' dwellings.
As our policy could be perceived as a barrier, it is recommended that it be revoked.
