Parklets are small public parks set into the existing streetscape. A Parklet repurposes part of the street into a public space for people and enhances the streetscape by adding interest and amenity.

They are for anyone to use, providing a place to rest, eat or work. They provide simple amenities like shade, bike parking and seating. They help local businesses by encouraging people to linger longer, and are a point of interest in the community for residents and visitors to experience.

In the City of Vincent there are two types of Parklets, City Parklets and Hosted Parklets. City Parklets are funded, designed, built and maintained by the City. Hosted Parklets are sponsored by a business or community group and are funded, designed, built and maintained by the applicant.

When a new Hosted Parklet application is received we will seek feedback from the community on the proposal.

Our current parklet application is for Fibber McGee's at 711 Newcastle Street in Leederville. To have your say on the proposed parklet, the below survey will be available until 15 November 2019. The survey is also available to complete in person at our Administration Centre (244 Vincent Street).
