Development Details:
The City has received a referral from the Department of Communities for demolition of Stirling Towers at No. 49-67 Smith Street, Highgate, as part of a Department of Communities redevelopment project.
Application Details
The application relates to a former public housing building on land owned by the Department of Communities. There are currently no tenants in the building. The Department of Communities is seeking to redevelop the site.

Community Consultation
Section 6(2) of the Planning and Development Act 2005 requires the City’s comments to be sought on public works proposals with regard to:
- Their consistency with the purpose and intent of the City’s Local Planning Scheme No.2;
- Orderly and properly planning; and
- The preservation of local amenity

Please note that the City is not the decision maker on the application and only provides referral comments back to the Department of Communities who will make a decision on application.
The City will forward any submissions received to the Department of Communities as the decision maker for its consideration. Submissions can be lodged online through Imagine Vincent or by email mail@vincent.wa.gov.au.
Next Steps
Following the conclusion of the community consultation, the City will compile the responses and forward them to the Department of Communities for their consideration.
The Department of Communities will then determine the application.
