A parklet is a small public park set into the existing streetscape. A parklet repurposes part of the street into a public space for people through the provision of seating, shade and greenery. Parklets are for anyone to use at all times, and are not reserved for customers of particular businesses.
An eatlet is an outdoor eating area during business operating hours and a small public park out of business operating hours. Eatlets are reserved for customers of particular business during business operating hours and are available for anyone to use out of business operating hours.
Parklets and eatlets provide a place to rest, eat or work and enhance the streetscape by adding interest and amenity. They help local businesses by encouraging people to linger longer and are a point of interest in the community for residents and visitors to experience.
