    For the lane running parallel to Oxford St to the west, is proposed in recognition of the Castellorizian Greek population within Mt Hawthorn and Leederville. The Greek immigrants of the 20th century aided in forming the suburbs into what they are today.

    For the lane running between Green, Dunedin, Woodstock and Shakespeare Streets, Mount Hawthorn, Pembroke Lane is in commemoration of a historically proposed street that was never constructed. Pembroke Street was proposed to run between Shakespeare Street and London Street, Mount Hawthorn.
