City of Vincent Place Plans
City of Vincent Place Plans are our ‘place based’ strategic documents that help guide the direction of our town centres.
In 2017/18, we developed our first place plan for the North Perth Town Centre and in 2018, we began working on a place plan for the Mount Hawthorn Town Centre.
A draft Mount Hawthorn Town Centre Place Plan has been prepared and is now available for viewing and comment.
Mount Hawthorn Town Centre Place Plan
The Mount Hawthorn Town Centre Place Plan will govern the allocation of funding and resources in the Mount Hawthorn Town Centre and includes a schedule of all major City of Vincent initiatives to be implemented in the town centre over the next four years.
The Mount Hawthorn Town Centre Place Plan has been developed in collaboration with the City’s local town team for Mount Hawthorn, the Mt Hawthorn Hub.
You can view the draft place plan here and share your thoughts via the feedback form below.
Alternatively, the draft place plan is available for viewing at the City’s Administration Centre and Library & Local History Centre or the draft plan can be emailed upon request. Comments can also be submitted in person or emailed to mail@vincent.wa.gov.au

Following this feedback period, the City will refine the draft place plan in late August, before presenting the final place plan to Council in September.

The town team operating in the Mount Hawthorn Town Centre, the Mt Hawthorn Hub (Hub), finalise Edition 2 of the Mt Hawthorn Hub Action Plan (Action Plan).

An analysis of the town centre is undertaken which includes a review the City's existing strategies and Hub Action Plan. This analysis informs the development of a series of draft actions and initiatives for inclusion in the draft Mount Hawthorn Town Centre Place Plan (Place Plan).

Following the Hub workshop, a draft version of the Place Plan is prepared. The draft Place Plan is reviewed by each of the City's service areas and further refined based on a detailed analysis of the following informing documents and strategies:
Strategic Community Plan 2018-2028;
Arts Development Action Plan 2018-2020;
Public Open Space Strategy 2018;
Economic Development Strategy 2011-2016;
Draft Economic Development Strategy 2020-2024;
Car Parking Strategy 2010;
Precinct Parking Management Plans;
Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan;
Sustainable Environment Strategy 2011-2016; and
Draft Sustainable Environment Strategy 2019-2024.
