Consultation has concluded
In the past, Taxis have used an allocated Taxi Zone adjacent to the Leederville Hotel on Oxford Street which allowed 15 minute parking during the day and transitioned to a Taxi Zone after 6:00pm. As a result of observations of Taxis stacking around the Newcastle Street and Oxford Street corner during peak use times (Friday and Saturday evenings), in February 2018, the City undertook a trial which relocated the Taxi Zone to outside of 662 Newcastle Street (east of the intersection of Newcastle Street and Carr Place).
A map of the previous Taxi Zone (outside of the Leederville Hotel) and the relocated trial zone (outside of 662 Newcastle Street) can be viewed here.
Details of the original proposal to relocate the Taxi Zone can be found in the 19 September 2017 Council Meeting Agenda available here.
Now that the trial has been in place for some time we would love to get your feedback on the trial relocation of the Leederville Taxi Zone and the need for a Taxi Zone within the Leederville Town Centre. Share your thoughts via the survey below before 5pm Friday 21 September.
