We are inviting feedback on our Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) Policy.
Background
The City of Vincent receives many requests from the community about speeding, traffic safety, congestion and neighbourhood impacts on local streets.
The Local Area Traffic Management Policy establishes a framework for how we assess, respond to and prioritise traffic safety concerns across Vincent.
It supports our commitment to improving road safety and aligns with the Safe System approach outlined in the State Government’s Driving Change Strategy 2020–2030 as well as our own Road Safety Management Plan.
A report was presented on 19 May 2026, at which Council approved the draft LATM Policy for community consultation.
Policy details
The draft LATM Policy provides a framework for a clear and consistent response to traffic safety and neighbourhood traffic concerns.
It ensures traffic management decisions are informed by reliable data including crash history, traffic volumes, speed data and warrant assessments.
It will also help prioritise investment in locations with the highest documented safety risks, ensuring limited resources are directed where they are needed most.
A copy of the draft policy is available in Documents.
