Imagine Vincent Questions

27 September 2017

Our community workshop on the 8 June brought us SEVEN big questions that formed the basis of the exploration of the themes most important to our community. Each Imagine Vincent theme had one big question.

CONNECTING WITH EACH OTHER

Connecting with Each Other is the theme that considers our society; our human-ness. This is about the things we do with and for each other, how we support all members of our community and celebrate being part of the community.

Question: How can we help build connections across our diverse community of people?

DAILY LIFE

Daily Life is about what occupies us; work, commercial activity and other economic drivers that make Vincent more vibrant and attractive to do business in. These are the things that might encourage or discourage people and business to come to Vincent.

Question: How can we support and facilitate our local businesses/ enterprises/ services and stay flexible to change?

GETTING AROUND

Getting Around is the theme that asks us to think about how we get from A to B. In this theme we are exploring how we move around in all forms of transport including buses, bikes, walking, cars, Uber, mopeds etc.

Question: How can we be the leader in helping people get around in an active, safe and sustainable way?

LIVING

‘Living’ is the theme that we are using to describe our housing, our streets, our neighbourhoods and the character of our place. These are the matters that affect us on an everyday level.

Question: How can the design of our neighbourhoods encourage a greater sense of community?

LOOKING AFTER OUR PLACE

Looking after our Place is the theme that asks us to think about what it means to be a good steward of our streets, parks, green spaces and environment. Looking after our place is about how we balance current pressures with ensuring the community of the future gets to enjoy the lifestyle that we have now.

Question: How can we maximise the benefits of population growth and improve our environment?

PLACES WE GO

Places We Go focuses on our town centres, parks, playgrounds and casual meeting places. These places are shared spaces that anyone can be.

Question: How could we work together to create welcoming places and spaces for everyone?

WHO WE ARE

Who We Are is about what makes Vincent, Vincent! This theme looks at why people are attracted to coming here and why we are so well recognised, as well as what we would like to be more recognised for.

Question: What do you love about Vincent? How can we celebrate and promote our uniqueness?
