The City of
Vincent is replacing the Throssell Street playground in Hyde Park and is looking
for volunteers to be part of a Community Reference Group which will help shape the
development of design options for this space.
Background
This playground is important to everyone in our community who is passionate about Hyde Park and opportunities for children to play.
To ensure community voices are represented in the development of this exciting space, we are forming a Community Reference Group.
The playground renewal will be funded through the City's 2026/27 Capital Works budget and work is due to be completed in the 2026/27 financial year.
Project details
The Community Reference Group (CRG) for Hyde Park Play Space will, with Vincent's Parks Team, help shape the development of design options prior to consulting with the wider community.
There are two types of voluntary positions available on the CRG: 'community' and 'professional expertise'.
For the community positions, we would especially like to hear from people who regularly use or have a strong interest in, or connection to, Hyde Park.
We are also looking for volunteers with professional expertise (who are ideally also passionate about Hyde Park) across the following areas:
- Landscape architecture
- Playground design
- Disability access and inclusion
- Aboriginal Heritage of the site or State Heritage of the site
The Terms of Reference outline the requirements, role and responsibilities of the CRG and are available to view in the Documents section of this page.
