The City of Vincent is seeking nominations from community members to join three of our Advisory Groups.

Background

Vincent has a number of Committees, Advisory and Working Groups and other bodies to advise Council on specific matters.

Please view the Advisory Group Policy No. 4.2.12 (currently under review) referred to in the terms of reference for each group.

Expression of Interest

We are seeking nominations from community members to join the following advisory groups for the period 21 November 2023 to 18 October 2025:

Arts Advisory Group - up to ten (10) community representatives

Nomination criteria:

  • expertise in management of cultural infrastructure and all artforms including visual, performance, literature, music, photography/film, etc.
  • representative of:
    1. culturally and linguistically diverse community
    2. young and emerging artists
    3. aboriginal community
  • expertise in public art and its place in the community

Children and Young People Advisory Group - up to six (6) community representatives

Nomination criteria:

  • representatives from a P&C (Parents and Citizens), Board or Council of a local school
  • community member(s) with experience working in youth focused organisations
  • representative of youth organisation(s) located within, or providing services to, children and young people in the City of Vincent

Sustainability and Transport Advisory Group - up to ten (10) community representatives

Nomination criteria:

  • protecting and enhancing the natural and built environment
  • facilitating safe and efficient modes of transport
  • improving awareness of the rights of vulnerable road users
  • encouraging responsible driving and riding.

Expressions of Interest closed 5pm Friday, 20 October 2023.

What will happen next?

After the Expression of Interest period closes, nominations will be reviewed, and a report presented to Council for consideration.

Everyone who nominates will be notified when the report is due to be considered by Council. Members of the public are welcome to attend the Council briefing and Council meeting to ask questions or comment.
