Draft Amended Local Planning Policy - Consulting Rooms and Medical Centres
Update
At its meeting held on 21 November 2023, Council adopted the new and advertised amended Consulting Rooms and Medical Centres Policy.
You can view the report, attachments and minutes from the meeting here.
Background
The City of Vincent is reviewing its policy in relation to the development of Consulting Rooms and Medical Centres and is seeking feedback on the proposed amendments.
The City provides guidance on the development of Consulting Rooms throughout Vincent through the existing policy.
As each policy is required to be reviewed every few years, the existing policy has been reviewed against best practice and current development trends within the City.
Project Details
Consulting Rooms and Medical Centres are types of land uses that can be approved in many of the Vincent’s precincts and suburbs.
The amended policy aims to ensure the City is supporting these businesses through a clear planning policy while ensuring they operate in a way that doesn’t negatively impact on their surrounds.
Some features of the amended policy include:
- Clearer provisions on where these businesses can operate.
- Expanding the policy to apply to Medical Centres.
- Revised operating hours.
- General updates to reflect more recent legislation.
The Draft Amended Consulting Rooms and Medical Centres Policy is currently being advertised in accordance with the review period and is available to view in the Document Library to the right of this page.
Also in the Document Library is a Comparison Table outlining the proposed amendments from the existing policy.
