We are developing a Climate Plan and seeking feedback from residents.
Background
Our community is already experiencing the impacts of climate change including hotter days, more extreme weather and altered rainfall patterns, largely driven by increasing greenhouse gas emissions from human activities.
The City's Sustainable Vincent Framework embeds sustainability across the organisation and set targets to reduce its operational emissions to Net Zero*. Our new Climate Plan will aim to build on this existing work.
Project details
We'd like your views on climate concerns such as flooding, health impacts, threats to nature, energy costs, emissions and actions.
Early planning will help our community adapt and thrive as our climate continues to change. Our new Climate Plan aims to:
- Assess our organisation's energy use and emissions.
- Develop a roadmap to continue to reduce our organisation's operational emissions.
- Look at our vulnerability to the future impacts of climate change and to build our resilience as a community.
*Net Zero means first minimising emissions as much as possible before balancing the emissions we produce with those we remove from the atmosphere. It doesn’t mean eliminating all emissions but making sure we don’t add more than we take away.

You will find more information on climate change in the FAQ and Links sections on this page.
