Following earlier community feedback on what play equipment community would like to see in this playground, we have two design options and would like to know which you prefer.

Background

Constructed in 2006, the Britannia Reserve South playground in Leederville is due for an update.

In July and August 2025, we asked for feedback on the play elements people would like to see there and also if it was still important to you that the playground remained fully fenced.

We heard the majority:

  • wanted the play equipment to be suitable for 4-8 yrs as well as 0-4 yrs
  • preferred a spread-out layout including slides, swings and climbing equipment
  • would accept mixed softfall to ensure there was more equipment
  • felt it was important to keep the playground fully fenced.

It currently benefits from shade sails, and the new playground will have shade too.

The playground renewal will be funded through the City's 2025/26 Capital Works budget and work is due to be completed in the 2025/26 financial year.
