We have developed two playground design options for Brigatti Gardens playground using feedback from the community. Now we’d like to hear which design you prefer.
Background
Brigatti Gardens is a little inner-city oasis located on the corner of Broome and Wright Streets in Highgate. This beautiful tree covered park has a playground, barbecue and plenty of shade, perfect for relaxing, spending time with family or casual exercise.
The playground is due for renewal, and in July and August 2025, we asked for feedback on the play elements people would like to see there.
We heard most people:
- wanted the play equipment to be suitable for 4-8 yrs and/or mixed ages
- preferred a spread-out layout that included slides, swings and climbing equipment
- would accept mixed softfall and natural/existing shade only in order to have more equipment.
Nature play was also a common theme, and this is reflected in the wooden elements of both design options.
This playground renewal will be funded through the City's 2025/26 Capital Works budget and work is due to be completed in the 2025/26 financial year.
