Why is the Parking Policy being reviewed?
The Parking Policy was last reviewed in August 2018. The purpose of this review is to align it with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 and the City’s Accessible City Strategy.
Will the amended Parking Policy allow more parking variations?
No. The amended Parking Policy stipulates minimum and maximum parking ratios and provides guidance for decision-makers on instances when the parking ratios could be varied.
Have the parking ratios changed?
No. Parking ratios are the same as the existing Policy.
Previously, land uses that were not listed within the Policy had to be determined by Council. The amended Policy now includes those unlisted land uses, meaning those applications can be determined under delegated authority rather than at a Council meeting.
How was the Payment in lieu of Parking Plan created?
The Plan has been drafted is in accordance with Schedule 2, clause 77J(3) of the Regulations and the Manner and Form – Payment in Lieu of Parking Plan.
How often will the Plan be reviewed?
The Plan will be reviewed along side the annual review of the Accessible City Strategy. This ensures continual improvement of accessibility within the City is planned for and delivered.
